During National Car Care Month in April, it's crucial to ensure your Mazda is well-maintained, especially if you primarily drive on highways and other roads without frequent long trips or heavy loads. Following Mazda's Normal Driving Scheduled Maintenance intervals is key. Here’s the schedule you should follow for normal driving: EVERY 6,000 MILES OR SIX MONTHS Regular maintenance every 6,000 miles or six months is essential. Tasks include: Replacing the engine oil and oil filter. Inspecting washer, brake, and clutch fluid levels. Checking for brake wear. Inspecting coolant levels. Examining the engine air filter and drive belts. Checking interior and exterior lights. Monitoring tire pressure and wear levels, including the spare tire. Lubricating locks and hinges. Opt for synthetic oil and change it at least twice per year, even if you don’t drive your CX-50 frequently, as oil breaks down over time and loses effectiveness. EVERY 10,000 MILES Every year or 10,000 miles, repeat the tasks listed above. Also, check wheel alignment, fuel lines, and hoses. Rotate your tires to prevent excess wear, usually every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. EVERY 20,000 MILES After two years, repeat the six-month or 5,000-mile maintenance schedule. Tighten nuts and bolts on the chassis and body to minimize engine noise and vibrations.
